"The amount of support I received through the whole process was unbelievable. I am beyond grateful for Paxman Scalp Cooling for saving every bit of my hair. Going through treatment at any age is unbearable but having my hair made it a little tolerable. "
I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, my treatment began on February 11, 2020. My mom, Lisa, had done extensive research. Along with a social worker, my mom ordered the cap through Hudson.
I was terrified, honestly terrified. The first 10 or so minutes with the cap on was brutal, it was so cold. But after 10/15 minutes I had gotten used to it and honestly forgot about it. It was a process that my mom did with me EVERYTIME. She would wet my hair with a spray bottle, put the cap on, make sure it was covering every inch. I would sit on a cargo net attached to a laptop bag strap to hold pressure on the crown of my head. I think that ALL oncology nurses should be aware of Cold Capping.
I experienced zero patchiness. My hair bounced back extremely quickly. I finished treatment on 5.19.20 and went to my hairdresser, cut and colored my hair on 8.14.20. I never felt the need to wear a wig, hat or head covering.
I am thrilled with my experience. This experience honestly saved my life in more ways than one. I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone. This scalp cooling should be known by everyone.
"I would love to thank my amazing fiancé, Chad, for picking me up at my absolute darkest times of my life. My parents, Greg & Lisa, for being there for me emotionally and financially. My beyond best friend, Lauren, for coordinating a meal train for me as well as emotional support. My amazing boss, Katie for going above and beyond for me. Of course, my dog, Lacey, for giving countless snuggles. My family, and my friends who are more like family for cards, flowers, cleaning my house and a sending a simple text. The amount of support I received through the whole process was unbelievable"
