Losing hair once your chemotherapy treatment is completed is normal, as it can take many weeks for the chemotherapy drugs to work their way out of your system. 8 to 12 weeks of shedding isn’t unusual, then it should begin to slow down and return to normal levels. If high levels of shedding persist for longer than this, it may be beneficial to speak to your doctor as other factors can affect hair retention, including low haemoglobin levels and anaemia.
