My facility doesn’t bill insurance directly. How do I pursue reimbursement with my insurance company?

Your treatment is considered an out-of-pocket cost. Some treatment facilities have chosen  not have a specific type of contract with Paxman, which means they cannot bill patient insurance directly. After your treatment is complete, you can ask your insurance company if reimbursement is possible.

6 steps to reimbursement

01

At the conclusion of treatment, obtain instructions or forms from your insurance company and submit your claim as directed.

02

It is useful to include a copy of the JAMA publication on Scalp Cooling with your submission. We have prepared a synopsis here.

03

A letter of medical necessity may be required to be included in your submission. Download a sample here.

04

Ask your doctor for progress notes that include the use of scalp cooling and include them in your submission if required.

05

Please include a copy of the Paxman Receipt. Please request a specific itemized receipt from patient@PaxmanUSA.com

06

Your claim may or may not be successful. Health insurance coverage varies among individual health plans and may be dependent on policy coverage, location, and other factors stipulated by the health insurance provider. Depending upon health benefit design, each patient may be responsible for all of the scalp cooling cost
