Why are there ice crystals on my hair after cold capping?

Some patients may notice ice crystals on their hair after scalp cooling treatment, and usually as a result of either a lot of water being used in the hair preparation stage, or the cap being removed quickly at the end of treatment.
Do not be disheartened if you don’t see ice crystals! If you don’t have ice crystals, this does not mean that the system was not cold enough or your treatment didn’t work – the system is designed to function at a constant temperature and therefore would alert if there was ever an issue with the temperature.
